Image description
The image shows the face of a person who expresses the emotion called embarrass. This emotional state is reflected on the outside, through different facial expressions. There are forty two individual muscles in the face, that are activated by the respective emotion, and impacts facial expressions on the facial elements: forehead, eyebrows, eyelids, nose, cheeks, lips, chin.
The face is oval, rendered blank, outlined, with a broad forehead and a square jaw. The wide ears, on either side of the edge of the face, are rendered as two vertically elongated ovals, marking the earlobe. The nose, in the center of the face, is long and ends at the base, above the lips, with a convex or curvy tip with wide nostrils, on either side.
The eyebrows, under the forehead and above the eyes, are rendered as two horizontal, embossed lines, slightly curved. The eyes are shown as two blank horizontal ovals, in the center of which is the eyeball highlighted by a thickened circle.
The mouth under the nose has the upper and lower lips closed. The lower lip is rendered by a bold line. The upper lip is more prominent, bulging and rendered embossed.
The hair on the head is combed on the back, starting from the edge of the forehead, and on either side it frames the face above the ears, left and right, being shown embossed.
In case of shame, the eyes are narrowed by the lowered eyelids, highlighted by a short and horizontal line, above the eyes, just below the eyebrows. The cheeks on the left and right of the nose, just below the eyes, are flushed, due to more blood flow, forming those blushes, that are highlighted here by a circle filled with the texture of oblique and parallel lines. Flushed skin is a common physical response to anxiety, stress, embarrassment, anger, or another extreme emotional state. (1)
The mouth has unevenly closed lips, so that the lower lip is covered more by the upper lip that is bulging outwards. The lower lip looks bigger and fuller. At the same time, dimples form on either side of the mouth, as the lips and skin of the cheeks are stretched horizontally. Thus, above, the cheeks are more bulging, and in the corners of the mouth appear these small wrinkles rendered by two dashed lines, short and curved, to the left and right of the lips.
