Tactile Images aims at offering all the blind people a financially-accessible solution for embossed printing.
What is the PRINTER?
The PRINTER is the device that helps at embossing the tactile graphics available in the Library or the personalized graphics created with the EDITOR and DRAWER.
This is another step in our dream’s evolution – offering a complete solution for the individual study of tactile graphics.
This project means creating a PRINTER that works with a wood glue (PVA paste) and syringes system. Our aim is to reduce the cost of printing a tactile graphic up to 100 times.
How does the PRINTER work?
The PRINTER maps out the wallpaper paste trace which then becomes embossed.
The PRINTER will be launched with a set of rules anyone will be able to follow to create their own model for tactile graphics, DIY technique.
When will the PRINTER be available?
The project is momentarily in the research stage and is supported by the Politehnica University of Bucharest and Lions Club Arad.
The Printer project will be complete in mid-2020.
