Image description
The image shows a model of a modern car, known as the Break or the Station Wagon, viewed from side, facing left.
It is a squarish car, slightly elongated, with a body car common to most contemporary cars, being designed with an extra space extended in the back called the cargo area.
The exterior skeleton of the car, also called the body car, is marked embossed.
The headlights, left, and rear lights, lower right, are rendered in square, blank shapes.
The wheels at the bottom have the tires highlighted by embossed circles.
The car has four doors, in profile being shown two, respectively the one on the driver’s side, left, and the one on the back, right, outlined by an blank, thickened line.
The side windows, located at the top of the car, are marked by blank shapes.
The fuel tank in the right side of the car, below the right end window, it is marked by a small circle outlined by a blank line.
A man is standing in the right bottom corner, thus positioned to facilitate the comparison of the dimensions of the car to the height of an adult.
General information
Before the advent of modern motoring cars, humans used domestic animals for travel, post mail, but also for the transport of goods. If a longer journey was made, the horses were changed in certain localities after a certain distance. One left one village with a horse, went part of the road, and into another locality, the horse, which was taken at the beginning of the journey, was left to rest and replaced with another, ready to go.
In 1930, the Essex company launched the station wagon in the form it remains today, that is to say the four-pair pillar version, the ceiling being tied to the bodywork by the windscreen pole, through the pole between the doors, through the pole after the back seat and through the trunk pole.
This type of car is used mainly for transporting goods and is more widespread in rural or isolated areas.
The main advantage of the station wagon is given by the generous interior space, a station wagon being longer and taller than a sedan, so there is the possibility of carrying bulky goods, such as a refrigerator. Additional space can also be obtained by folding the rear seat, thus being able to mount an additional row of seats. With this change, the number of people who can be transported is higher.
Another advantage over a sedan type car is the increased stability while driving at high speed due to the higher weight.
The higher weight can also be a minor disadvantage because a heavier car has a higher fuel consume.
With the advent of SUV cars, which offer the advantages of a station wagon plus all-wheel drive and increased passenger safety, the popularity of the station wagon sped out. However, even in 2020, Dacia launches a car with station wagon features, but with a different name, Logan MCV (Multi Convivial Vehicle).
There is a lot of talk about the engine, the power, the capacity of the means of transport. Many consider the engine to be the most important component of a car. But have you ever thought about how important a common wheel is? It was invented about 4,000 years before Christ. This invention is the basis of any means of transport, whether we are talking about the horse-drawn peasant’s wagon, or the most modern electric car. It is important to note that, according to some studies, the wheel may even have Romanian origins. Let us think that a car is wheeled, but it consists of many jagged wheels, which are designed to transmit mechanical power to the main wheels on which the car is running.
