Image description
The image shows the face of a person who expresses the emotion called vigilance. This emotional state is reflected on the outside, through different facial expressions. There are forty two individual muscles in the face, that are activated by the respective emotion, and impacts facial expressions on the facial elements: forehead, eyebrows, eyelids, nose, cheeks, lips, chin.
The face is oval, rendered blank, outlined, with a broad forehead and a square jaw. The wide ears, on either side of the edge of the face, are rendered as two vertically elongated ovals, marking the earlobe. The nose, in the center of the face, is long and ends at the base, above the lips, with a convex or curvy tip with wide nostrils, on either side.
The eyebrows, under the forehead and above the eyes, are rendered as two embossed, slightly sloping lines, with sharp ends towards the temples of the face. The eyes are shown as two blank horizontal ovals, in the center of which is the eyeball highlighted by a thickened circle.
The mouth under the nose is closed, with the lips sealed together, the lower one, fuller, being rendered blank, and the upper one, thinner, highlighted by a thick wavy line, with the left and right corners slightly arched downwards.
The hair on the head is cut short, starting from the edge of the forehead, and on either side it frames the face above the ears, left and right, being shown embossed.
In the case of vigilance, the look is serious, alert, so the person peeks carefully in each direction, as shown here, with his eyes looking to the right. The eyebrows are kept at the same level, but very high above the eyelids. Thus, the forehead is wrinkled and pushed above the eyebrows. This crease is rendered in the middle of the forehead by a dashed line, curved upwards.
The mouth is closed with the corners slightly lowered, forming dimples on either side of the lips, highlighted by a dashed line, curved towards the mouth. The chin is raised under the lower lip, forming a crease above, marked by a dashed line, curved downwards, towards the chin.
