The picture shows three round balls. Each ball is made for a certain type of sport.
We use the ball on the bottom left, when we play the sport called basketball. Here, the ball must be dribbled, meaning it must be driven by repeated beating between the floor and the palm of your hand, just using one hand, and then thrown into the basket. For this we have to throw it harder, if we are farther from the basket, or we throw it higher, when we are closer to the basket. The basket is fixed on a high pole and placed at both ends of the basketball court.
The basketball is heavy and hard, and is drawn here as a filled circle, cut on the center by a blank plus and two other curved lines, one up and one down.
We use the ball on the bottom right when we play the sport called beach volleyball. Here, the ball must be passed, meaning thrown to other players on your team, using only your hands. Thus, the ball must pass over the net, the net being the rectangular and long netting that separates the field in the center. A goal it is marked if the ball hits the opponent’s floor, without the opponent being able to touch the ball before it lands oh his side.
The volleyball is much lighter than the basketball or football ball, it is practically the lightest in size, being made of a very thin and air-inflated plastic or rubber material. There is also a water volleyball that floats on the water and does not sink, like a lifebuoy.
We use the ball from the top center, when we play the sport called football. Here, the ball must be passed, meaning thrown to other players on your team, or driven on the field, using only the feet. Thus, the ball must enter the rectangular goal net placed at both ends of the football field. A goal it is marked if the ball passes by the goalkeeper and into the goal net of the opponent team.
The football, also called the soccer ball is heavy, made of a softer material, such as leather, and always checkered, that is, it is sewn with square or diamond-shaped patches or other shapes like a star or a dot or as in the picture, square-shaped forms with a triangle glued to the edges. This shape that has six sides is called a hexagon.
