We are Tactile Images, and we aim to revolutionize the world of the blind. Do you like to translate from Romanian to English? You can volunteer and help us make our solution visible to all the blind people in the world! Here’s how!
1. The Tactile Images revolution
The initiator of Tactile Images, The Urban Development Association, has been creating projects for the blind for the last ten years. The team has identified the needs of the blind and has now launched its e-learning platform, Tactile Images.
The platform has the role of facilitating blind people’s access to education, or, more specifically, to visual education. This is done with the aid of tactile graphics, simplified and embossed images for the blind.
For now, the complex platform includes a vast LIBRARY of tactile graphics, an EDITOR for creating personalized content, and a READER app that facilitates the individual study of tactile graphics.
2. Vast LIBRARY of tactile graphics
The LIBRARY contains self-describing tactile graphics with descriptions in both Romanian and English. For now, we have more than 700 Romanian descriptions that need to be translated into English. Why? Only in this way will it be able to reach blind people in other countries. We created specialized content intending to have a global impact on the education of the blind because, according to our research, only a few of them have access to tactile graphics.
3. How can you volunteer?
Being a part of this project does not only make you a translator, but it also makes you a dream achiever. We’ve been dreaming of enhancing the lives of the blind for a decade. Now we need your help. You can volunteer by filling out this form.
