The square is the regular polygon with four sides. It is a particular case of rectangle (rectangle with equal adjacent sides) and rhombus (rhombus with right angles).
Properties:
- the opposite sides are parallel;
- all sides are congruent;
- all angles are right;
- the adjacent sides are perpendicular;
- aria A = {\ displaystyle S = l ^ {2}} l2
- perimeter {\ displaystyle P = 4l} P = 4l
- diagonal d = {\ displaystyle d = l {\ sqrt {2}}}
- radius of the circumscribed circle {\ displaystyle R = {\ frac {l {\ sqrt {2}}} {2}}} R = {\ displaystyle (R = {\ frac {d} {2}})} {\ displaystyle a = {\ frac {l} {2}}}
- the diagonals are congruent and perpendicular;
- diagonals are also bisectors of angles;
- the means of the sides form another square;
- it has four axes of symmetry.
